MILWAUKEE -- Wily Peralta has been more consistent in the second half of the season, though the Milwaukee Brewers young right-hander has little to show for it. Greg Monroe Jersey . Peralta allowed one run on a solo homer through the first six innings Friday night, but opposing starter Jered Weaver was even better to help the Los Angeles Angels to a 5-0 victory over the Brewers. Peralta (8-14) departed after allowing the first two runners to reach in the seventh inning and both eventually scored as the Angels broke the game open with four runs. "Im trying to be more consistent. Youre going to have some bad games, but when you have those kind of games, you have to forget and get ready for your next start," said Peralta, who has lost five of his last six decisions. "When you have a year like this, you cant put your head down. You keep battling." Weaver (9-7) allowed just three singles, striking out three and walking three. He escaped a bases-loaded, one-out jam in the fourth, and the Brewers stranded 13 runners overall. "He was on. Ive seen him a lot better, but he was on," Brewers manager Ron Roenicke said. "The guy knows how to pitch. He knows how to get hitters out. He knows how to change speeds. Hes one of the best competitors that Ive seen out on the mound." The Angels made their first trip to Miller Park since April 2007, when they played the Indians in a game moved due to heavy snow in Cleveland. This was the Angels first appearance against the Brewers at Miller Park since sweeping a three-game series in June 2002. Kole Calhoun hit a solo home run in the fourth, his fifth. Grant Greens bases-loaded double down the left-field line keyed the four-run seventh. Calhoun drew a leadoff walk and Mark Trumbo singled, chasing Peralta. Reliever Ron Wooten struck out Hank Conger, but Luis Jimenez singled to bring up Green. Green doubled just inside the bag at third and J.B. Shuck followed with an RBI single. The Brewers loaded the bases with one out in the fourth, sandwiching singles by Aramis Ramirez and Scooter Gennett around Carlos Gomez being hit by a pitch. But Martin Maldonado, who entered the game hitting .174, popped out on a 3-0 pitch and Peralta flied out. "I definitely wasnt expecting (Maldonado) to be swinging 3-0," Weaver said. "Some things went our way. I just wanted to throw it down the middle just to get back in the count, and I was able to get him to pop it up. So that was nice." Milwaukee also loaded the bases with two outs in the seventh against Michael Kahn on a single and two walks, but Gomez lined to second. "You still have to keep us in the game and Wily did that tonight," Roenicke said. "We didnt do much off Weaver. We had three hits off him. We had some chances, but we didnt get that big hit when we needed it." Peralta, whose 14 losses tied him for the league lead with Chicagos Edwin Jackson, pitched better than his final line of three runs on four hits in six-plus innings. But, thats not unusual. Among his last eight starts were eight shutout innings with a no decision against Miami, two runs in eight innings in a 2-0 loss to Seattle and one run in five innings without a decision in his previous outing against Cincinnati. Its one of those kind days. I just tried to put zeroes on the board," Peralta said. " I just gave up a homer early and left a couple men on and they scored. When you face pitchers like Weaver, its tough." NOTES: Angels OF Josh Hamilton didnt play. "(Hamiltons) shoulder is a little sore so we are going to give him today," Scioscia said. ... Roenicke said a change of scenery might benefit reliever John Axford, who was dealt earlier Friday to St. Louis. "I think probably a new atmosphere going with a team that should get into the playoffs, should be a great opportunity and place for him to go and get it back together again." ... Green Bay Packers tight end Jermichael Finley threw out the first pitch, with the rest of the Packers tight ends taking up infield positions. Finleys low, hard throw out of an exaggerated windup skipped past the catcher. . Mike Trout drew his 80th walk, tops in the American League. . Weaver mishandled Khris Davis one-hopper back to the mound in the sixth inning for his first error since Aug. 28, 2011. Oscar Robertson Jersey . Jones, from Winnipeg, built a 3-0 advantage after three ends by scoring two in the second and one in the third. Chinas skip Bingyu Wang cut that lead to 3-1 in the fourth before Canada added another three in the fifth for a 6-1 lead. Rashad Vaughn Jersey . - The infectious smile was missing from Nam Nguyen last week. http://www.nbabucksproshop.com/Authentic-Jabari-Parker-Bucks-Jersey/ . - Connor McDavid scored twice and added two assists as the Erie Otters beat the Sarnia Sting 7-3 on Saturday night in Ontario Hockey League action. DALLAS -- Former Dallas Cowboys player Josh Brent was sentenced Friday to 180 days in jail and 10 years of probation for a drunken car crash that killed his friend and teammate, Jerry Brown. Brent was convicted Wednesday of intoxication manslaughter for the December 2012 crash on a suburban Dallas highway that killed Brown, who was a passenger in Brents car. Brent could have been sentenced to up to 20 years in prison. Brent, a Cowboys defensive tackle, and Brown, a linebacker on the practice squad, also played together at the University of Illinois and were close friends. They were headed home from a night of partying with Dallas teammates when Brent lost control of his Mercedes and crashed. Officers who arrived on scene saw Brent trying to pull Browns body from the wreckage. Blood tests pegged Brents blood alcohol content at 0.18 per cent, which is more than twice the states legal limit to drive of 0.08 per cent. Prosecutors told jurors that the burly, 320-pound lineman had as many as 17 drinks on the night of the crash. One of Brents lawyers, George Milner, argued that Brent wasnt drunk and was only "guilty of being stupid behind the wheel of a car." He contended that Brent couldnt have had nearly as much to drink as prosecutors said he had, and that the police blood tests were flawed. Brents lawyers pushed their case for probation Thursday, calling a Dallas County official who testified that the county currently has 34 intoxicatioon manslaughter cases that resulted in probation. Brent retired from football last year. Browns mother, Stacey Jackson, has also publicly forgiven Brent. When asked Thursday if she holds Brent responsible for her sons death, she said: "Hes still responsible, but you cant go on in life holding a grudge. We all make mistakes." Prosecutors pushed for prison time for Brent, who went to trial only weeks after another Texas intoxication manslaughter case sparked widespread public outrage. In that case, a defence expert argued that the defendant, a 17-year-old boy who caused a drunken crash that killed four people, deserved leniency because his parents coddled him into a sense of irresponsibility -- a condition the expert termed "affluenza." The teen wasnt given prison time. On Thursday, prosecutor Rebecca Dodds emphasized Brents 2009 drunken driving arrest in Illinois to press the states argument that he deserves prison time. In that case, he served 30 days in jail after pleading guilty to a misdemeanour charge. "Probation doesnt work for Josh Brent," prosecutor Rebecca Dodds told the jury during closing statements in the punishment phase. Brent played in all 12 games for the Cowboys in 2012 before the crash. Brown made the practice squad that season.
