CALGARY - On paper, its the mismatch of this CFL season. Pittsburgh Pirates Shirts . The Calgary Stampeders, holder of the leagues best record at 10-3, host the Winnipeg Blue Bombers with the worst at 2-11 on Saturday. Watch this game live on TSN, tonight at 6:30pm et/3:30pm pt. The Stampeders were already playoff-bound, so its tempting for them to look past the hapless Bombers. "I really hope so, but I doubt it," Winnipeg head coach Tim Burke said. "I dont think they will overlook us at all." Calgarys record against East Division opponents is 6-1. Winnipeg is their final Eastern foe this regular season. The Stampeders then meet the B.C. Lions twice and the Edmonton Eskimos and Saskatchewan Roughriders once in games which will determine the West Division playoff seedings. Winnipeg joins Calgary in the West next season with the arrival of the Ottawa Redblacks. The Bombers havent won at McMahon Stadium since 2002, ant the Stampaders are 19-9 against Winnipeg since 2000. The Bombers are not mathematically eliminated from this years playoffs, but Winnipeg is running low on both games to win and for division rivals to lose to qualify for the post-season. "Sometimes when you play teams with that kind of record, if you dont focus on the team and you focus on their record, sometimes youll get a rude awakening," Stampeder quarterback Kevin Glenn said. "It happens when a team lets its guard down and starts to believe all that stuff about this team is 2-11, they probably dont really want to play this game, theyre probably ready to go home. Thats not the case. You watch them play, the film weve been watching the past three games, theyve come out to play." Among the CFL statistical categories in which Calgary ranked first and Winnipeg last heading into Fridays games are field goals, average points scored per game, time of possession, net rushing yards and average rushing yards. While the Bombers were still casting for a legitimate starting quarterback, the Stampeders have an embarrassment of riches with three. Glenn, 1-1 since returning from injury and 6-2 this season, will start Saturday. Expect backup Drew Tate to get his first throws in a game since July 7 if the score becomes lopsided. Bo Levi Mitchell led Calgary to a 37-24 victory in Winnipeg on July 30. Tate has been sidelined with a troublesome throwing arm injury this season. "At some point in time in the not-too-distance future I would like to get Drew in the game, but the game will decide that, not me," Stampeder head coach John Hufnagel said. "He hasnt played a whole lot of football lately. Its good for himself to get some snaps and get used to playing football again." Quarterback Max Hall gets his third consecutive start and fifth this season for Winnipeg. He was replaced at halftime by Jason Boltus in last weeks 53-17 loss to the Lions, whose defence scored three touchdowns. "I think were getting better even though sometimes it doesnt show," Hall said. "I think were getting better with the details. I like the game plan this week. Im excited to play. "I know a lot of people arent giving us a chance, but I think we believe in each other. I said the other day if I can eliminate a few of the mistakes Im making and lead this football team, well be all right." A subplot to Saturdays game is the race for the CFLs sack title. Winnipeg defensive end Alex Hall leads with 15, followed by Calgarys Charleston Hughes with 13 and Cordarro Law with 10. While Winnipeg has given up 46 sacks this season, Calgary has allowed a league-low 28. The defensive front four is a bright light in Winnipegs dismal season. In addition to Hall, defensive linemen Kenny Mainor, Zach Anderson and Bryant Turner have a combined 20 sacks between them. "It gets you a little excited knowing were considered the two best defensive lines in the league," Hughes said. "Obviously we are the best defensive line in the league. "They pretty much rush every down. We dont have many opportunities to get sacks because we do have coverage responsibilities. We cover backs, we cover receivers and line up all over the field. That cuts our pass rushes in half as defensive ends." Never afraid to throw a little gas on the fire, Hughes called Hall "an adequate pass rusher, but I think it has more to do with the entire defensive line that they have." Hall wasnt taking the bait. "They have good players, him being one of them, but I think we have the best line," he said. "Weve just to go out and show it. "Or course I want to win (the sack title) and its kind of funny Im going up against a guy who is right behind me and they have another dude Laws that pretty good too. Im battling those guys, but its important. I want to show Im the best." Wide receiver Joe West returns to Calgarys active roster after suffering a separated shoulder July 20 against Montreal. He was averaging a touchdown a game before his injury. Notes: West and wide receiver Maurice Price, Calgarys leader in touchdown receptions with six, will be on the field together for the first time this season Saturday . . . Former Blue Bomber quarterback Glenn is 16-7 in two seasons with Calgary . . . The Stampeders home winning streak halted at 10 with a 33-27 loss to Toronto on Sept. 22 . . . Winnipeg has lost 10 of their last 11 and five in a row on the road. Stitched Pirates Jerseys . Pinch-hitter Tommy Medica singled in the go-ahead run in the eighth inning and the Padres beat the Seattle Mariners 2-1 in their first home game since Gwynn died of cancer Monday. Cheap Pirates Jerseys . A strong fastball. A big, bending curveball that can buckle hitters at the knees. Against the Detroit Tigers on Sunday, Elias put the entire package together against one of the leagues strongest lineups. https://www.cheappiratesjerseys.us/ . On the day after Billy Horschel posted his 12th straight round in the 60s, won his second straight tournament against a world-class field and picked up an additional $10 million bonus as the FedEx Cup champion, Watson was kicking back in his seat at a Kansas City Royals game.LOS ANGELES – Ryan Getzlaf breaks into a big grin when asked about the agitating antics of his longtime linemate Corey Perry. "What? You want me to talk about that?" the Anaheim Ducks captain asks chuckling. After some gentle prodding Getzlaf opens up. "Thats part of Perrys game. I mean, hes always going to play hard, play hard between the whistles and, you know, theres always a little extra stuff going on and its stuff hes been doing his whole career. Its part of his makeup and things that fuel him to be a better player on the ice and I thought he was unbelievable [in Game 3]." On the ice, Perry is in the middle of everything. Rarely will a shift go by without him getting engaged physically with someone. "He is what he is," said Getzlaf. "Hes not out there chirping at every guy that skates by or anything like that. Hes just a bit of a rat out there, I guess, if you want to call him [that]. He stirs the pot and he does the things that he does and that helps make him a better player." What makes Perrys pest persona on the ice intriguing is that it differs sharply with the seemingly reclusive life he leads away from the rink. "Hes very, very quiet off the ice," said Ducks head coach Bruce Boudreau. "Hes actually shy around people. But on the ice hes one competitive man." "If you dont really know him off the ice hes pretty quiet, he really doesnt say too much," said Kings defenceman Drew Doughty, who lives around the corner from Perry in London, Ont. and was his Olympic teammate in February. "You kind of got to get to know him a bit more. Hes an awesome guy off the ice and I see him quite a bit in the summer, but on the ice hes just a pest out there. Hes a really good player and he likes to get under the other teams skin and when you put those two things together it kind of frustrates you." Perry was third on the Ducks with 65 penalty minutes in the regular season. He is fourth on the team in penalty minutes during the post-season with 15. And the Kings are wary of being goaded into taking retaliation penalties. "If he starts [agitating] after the whistle then Im probably going to ignore it, but if its throughout the game, hes going to try and hit me or whatever, Im going to try and hit him for sure," said Doughty. "You got to play physical on a guy like that. The only way you can beat him is physically. You got to play him hard and try and get under his skin too, because he gets frustrated at times." What makes Perry somewhat different is that hes a creative pest. His prank on Jeff Carter in Game 1 – squirting water in his Olympic teammattes unattended glove during a commercial break – went viral. Wholesale Pirates Jerseys. Someone even showed Boudreau the video on YouTube. It reminded the Ducks bench boss of when Perry sprayed water at Colorado Avalanche head coach Patrick Roy at the end of the first game of the regular season when the two coaches engaged in a shouting match. Perry also made it on to plenty of highlight reels earlier in the season. During a November overtime game in Carolina, the 28-year-old broke his stick and grabbed one right out of Alex Semins hands while skating back to the Ducks bench. Semin was hanging over the boards waiting to come on as part of a line change. "I dont know if hes trying to get under peoples skin or if hes just playing like hes been playing since he was six years old," said Boudreau. "I dont think hes a guy like [Stars forwards] Antoine Roussel or [Ryan] Garbutt, who purposely do things to tick the other person off. I think Corey just plays as Corey and if it ticks people off then thats an added bonus." Boudreau believes Perry needs to create chaos in order to be the effective 43-goal scorer he is. "The more youre on him and the more you hound him the more competitive he gets just like when I watch Doughty," Boudreau explains. "The more you hit him the better he gets." "If Im not doing different things," Perry said, "Im not going to be myself on the ice." But how does Perry explain the double life he leads? How is he able to morph from unassuming off the ice into an annoyance on it? "Theres a switch where, when I get to the rink, it flips on," the former Hart Trophy winner said quietly. "I can turn it off when I leave." NOTES: Perry and Getzlaf held a one-on-one meeting after the Game 2 loss to discuss why they werent as effective. "Luckily enough we dont have to have them that often," said Getzlaf. "Its not that often where both of us dont have a good game. Sometimes its one or the other and we can kind of pick each other up a bit. There were just some things we needed to do better. Its not like we were playing horrible or anything like that. It was just we needed to be better than we were and thats when you have those talks." The two responded with a strong effort in Game 3 as the Ducks got back in the series. Perry scored the opening goal of the game on the power play ... "We just got to take him out of this series," said Doughty of Perry. "Hes one of the key guys on their team and we havent done a good enough job against him yet so tonight [in Game 4] we got to pay special attention to that and take him out of the game." ' ' '
