Each week, we will run down the top waiver wire pickups with a focus on the coming week and rest of the season. Asics Shoes Sale Australia . QUARTERBACKS Nick Foles (vs. Dallas)Last week: 22/31, 296 yards, 3 TDs; 1 rushing TDFoles is owned by less than 20% of teams heading into Week 7 meaning a lot of fantasy teams – and surely some in need of QB help – missed out on a Top 3 performance at the position last week. If Mike Vicks hamstring isnt ready to go come Sunday Foles is a must-own. Even if Vick is ready to go Foles performance may have been enough to spark a QB controversy in Philadelphia and owning the sophomore third-rounder could pay off before the season is out. Josh Freeman (at New York Giants)Last week: -If you saw the Vikings last week, you know they need a new QB. Freeman may not be the answer, and its likely hell struggle for a bit as he continues to learn Minnesotas playbook, but hes the teams best option and gives fantasy teams a working bye week replacement as soon as he starts, which could be as early as this week. Brandon Weeden (at Green Bay)Last week: 26/43, 292 yards, 2 TDs, 2 INTsThe Browns QB play regressed last week with Weeden taking over for an injured Brian Hoyer, but it was felt more in real football than in fantasy football. Weeden was a Top 10 QB last week, throwing for 292 yards and two touchdowns. Dont expect that to continue into next week, especially with the Browns traveling to Lambeau Field taking on the Packers, but the now 30-year-old could put up QB2 numbers. Thad Lewis (at Miami)Last week: 19/32, 216 yards, 2 TDsLewis performance was a very pleasant surprise for the Bills in Week 6, throwing for more than 200 yards and scoring three combined TDs in almost leading the team to an OT win over the Bengals. There are reasons for pessimism with Lewis moving forward – hes questionable for Week 7 with a foot sprain; hes still Thad Lewis – but if he gets another start for Buffalo he could be worth a flyer. Others: Chad Henne (vs. San Diego), Mike Glennon (at Atlanta) RUNNING BACKS Joseph Randle (at Philadelphia) Last week: 11 carries, 17 yards, 1 TDRandle is nothing more than an injury fill-in for DeMarco Murray but what makes him enticing is he joins a strong offence in Dallas and has five straight games against defences that struggle some against the run. If Murray is out for a while, this could be a really good pickup. Brandon Jacobs (vs. Minnesota)Last week: 22 carries, 106 yards, 2 TDsJacobs turned back the clock for at least one week last Thursday in rushing for 106 yards and two TDs against the Bears. David Wilson could need season-ending back surgery so the Giants backfield should be Jacobs, at least until DaRel Scott returns from injury in a few weeks. Jacobs is a shell of his former self and last weeks performance is unlikely to be repeated. But he is still a big body capable of plunging into the end zone should the Giants get him close enough. Chris Ogbonnaya (at Green Bay)Last week: 5 carries, 24 yards; 7 catches, 61 yards, 1 TDOgbonnaya wont receive more carries than Willis McGahee in Cleveland but his worth comes in the passing game, especially for teams in PPR leagues. The 27-year-old rushed for just 24 yards last week, and hasnt yet rushed for more than 30 yards in a game this season, but he added seven catches for 61 yards and a touchdown, making for a decent performance last Sunday. Moving forward Ogbonnaya should expect five or more targets to supplement his weak ground totals. Others: Mike Tolbert (vs. St. Louis), Brandon Bolden (at New York Jets) WIDE RECEIVERS Emmanuel Sanders (vs. Baltimore)Last week: 3 catches, 70 yards, 1 TDThere are a number of serviceable receivers that can be found on the waiver wire each week; after Pittsburgh finally got into the win column last weekend against the Jets, Sanders could be one worth a look. Hes not receiving the targets he did prior to Heath Millers return to the lineup (averaging 11 the first two weeks, seven the past three) but is still putting up more than 60 yards receiving per week on average. If he can find the end zone like he did last week, teams are looking at a double-digit scorer in Sanders. Terrance Williams (at Philadelphia)Last week: 2 catches, 27 yards, 1 TDWilliams saw a drastic reduction in targets last week coinciding with the return of a healthy Miles Austin, but still managed a decent fantasy line by scoring a touchdown on one of his just two catches. The rookie has looked good early in the season and while there are a number of options Tony Romo will look to first in Dallas, the Cowboys offence is explosive and should provide opportunity for Williams. Others: Rueben Randle (vs. Minnesota), Keenan Allen (at Jacksonville), Stephen Hill (vs. New England) TIGHT ENDS Kyle Rudolph (at New York Giants)Last week: 9 catches, 97 yards, 1 TDThanks in large part to garbage yards, Rudolph had his best game of the year, racking up nine catches for 97 yards and a touchdown. There is reason to believe last week was Rudolphs coming out party and not just a one week aberration. The Vikings should continue to be terrible, having to lean more heavily on the pass in attempts to cut opposing leads, lending to more opportunities for Rudolph. Dont expect the TD every week, but the TE should keep his receiving yards totals fairly high. Jordan Reed (vs. Chicago) Last week: 4 catches, 58 yardsReed is the less-owned Redskins TE with Fred Davis, he shouldnt be. The rookie third-rounder is clearly the top passing game option at TE for Washington, averaging six targets his past two games while Davis wasnt targeted once last week. Reed is taking advantage of his opportunities too, recording 58 receiving yards against Dallas on Sunday. Others: Tyler Eifert (at Detroit), Delanie Walker (vs. San Francisco) Discount Asics Shoes . J.J. Hardy drove in a run for the Orioles, who bounced back from an 8-4 loss in the series opener on Friday. Fresh off the 15-day disabled list, Derrek Lee went 2-for-4 with two runs scored. Jake Arrieta (7-3) gave up three runs on five hits over six innings to pick up the win. Cheap Asics Shoes Australia . Ferrer will play Mikhail Youzhny on Sunday after he defeated Dmitry Tursunov 6-2, 6-4 in an all-Russian semifinal. "Youzhny is a good player," Ferrer said. http://www.cheapaustraliaasics.com/ . -- Jonathan Vilmas season is over and his future on the football field is in doubt. Before I even begin to express my thoughts of this off-season and the coming season, my congratulations and praise to the Saskatchewan Roughriders for winning the 101st Grey Cup and to the province of Saskatchewan and city of Regina for putting on an excellent show and experience. One of the best aspects of my job, maybe the best, is the experiences; the interactions with people you never forget. Whether it is meeting Tom Hanks briefly (class act) or the genuine enthusiasm and interaction of Riders and Ticats fans, I am confident I can speak for all that covered the game in saying you made us feel much more important and appreciated than we deserve. I sincerely hope the moment the new stadium is ready to roll the “Big Game" goes back to Regina with no hesitation. Overall this off-season has been a good and productive one. With new stadiums in Ottawa and Hamilton, future stadiums in Regina and Toronto, the most important aspects of the game – in-stadium fan experience and attendance – are progressing, not regressing. Tim Hortons Field in Hamilton is taking shape. The season ticket base is just about maxed out and the luxury boxes are all sold. I have yet to visit the stadium in Ottawa but I have a high level of confidence in the people running the Redblacks and what they are doing to make this organization viable. Its very important to have a CFL team in Ottawa for one big reason: it is our nations capital and will continue to enhance pride and patriotism in ourselves and our country. With Toronto, at the risk of sounding like a cheerleader, BMO Field would be perfect. I have walked around the stadium three or four times and the sight lines, angles, and proximity to the field are exceptional. Its basically on the same location as the old Exhibition Stadium and that location is excellent; not as congested as the Rogers Centre location and probably not as expensive. I dont dislike the Rogers Centre, at one time it was one of the most unique structures in North America, but BMO fits what is needed: more intimacy and less immensity. Trust me when I say this, its perfect! In on-field related issues, I like the challenge system as it relates to pass interference; the NFL will watch closely how it is executed and learn. But I also have concerns with flow of the game. Too many stops and starts in football make the game boring; I hate to say that but it is the truth. This is a pretty bold, precedent-setting move by the league. May I suggest one more? Eliminate the huddle from football with the exception of the beginning of a drive. Football players are pretty bright, they can run ann entire offence without talking about it in detail after each play. Asics Shoes Australia Sale. Between TV timeouts, injuries, and challenges, the game is too long, especially NCAA football, which now runs anywhere from 3.5 hours to four. That is too much. How do you create a rule to keep the game flowing? Easy. Once a play is over, the offence must go back to the original position they began the play from, then the quarterback directs the play and players. Time constraints stay the same and every player that needs an ear piece can use one to offset the noise. The quarterback becomes a true quarterback, not an order taker. Realistic? I believe so. The entertainment value of the game would explode as there would be constant focus from the fans due to constant motion and action. It may be a difficult sell but as a viewer, anytime a team goes no huddle I regain and intensify my interest. Again the league could set a new standard of entertainment for the benefit of the paying public. They are, after all the most important revenue generators. Speaking of revenue, the Players Association wants a new, bigger and better deal. As a former player, I want the present players to earn more. CFL players are the most underpaid athletes in a combat sport I know. The league is not at a point where an increase can be so significant that it satisfies the desires of all. It is still a lean business that has developed stability, but not prosperity. There will be an increase for players, the amount is unknown. May I suggest this though, as a life lesson learned? It is not so much how much you make as it is how much you have and what you do with it. With an increase in revenue, the best thing the league and Players Association can do is get it out of the hands of the players to control spontaneous purchases. We have all heard the mind-numbing stories of athletes that make a lot yet have very little. And the truth is they have no one to blame but themselves. Hard pill to swallow. There will be more money, but making the money truly work so you can satisfy both your desires for security and adventure in life is critical. There is nothing more important in the CFL than the quality of the play and the player. And there should be nothing more important to that player than when his playing days are over he has physical, financial evidence he played. I dont know about you, but this was the most brutal winter I have encountered in a long time. I heard it was the coldest in Manitoba in 100 years. I am looking forward to watching a game without seeing my breath. Fall will come soon enough, but spring football sounds good to me! ' ' '
