The first match-up of the Round of 16 features Ottawa Senators forward Ales Hemsky against St. Louis Blues forward T.J. Oshie. Hemsky dazzled Senators fans early into his late-season tenure in the Nations Capital with a set of moves that made a large portion of a playoff-calibre club look silly. Taking a feed from Milan Michalek just over centre, Hemsky hit the blue line and began his dance through a trio of Tampa Bay Lightning players. Radko Gudas became a spectator early into the play and Matt Carle was unable to get anywhere near a puck that Hemsky was guarding like a signing bonus. As for Ben Bishop, well, this probably wont be making his Vezina consideration reel either. Hemsky won his first-round match-up against Winnipegs Blake Wheeler by taking nearly 54 per cent of the vote. Oshie – as he proved at the Sochi Olympics this year – is comfortable going it alone. After a fake slapper from Alex Steen backs the Tampa Bay Lightning off, Oshie grabs the puck and starts making headway towards the net. Oshie then splits Victor Hedman and Teddy Purcell before avoiding a spinning stick-check from Martin St. Louis. Losing his feet, Oshie finishes it with a backhand shovel that beats big Ben Bishop. Oshie soundly won his first-round match-up against Detroits Pavel Datsyuk, taking 72 per cent of the vote. You can watch the highlights and make your decision here.
